Script for "Inhabitant"

Setting: Inside House where the story takes place.
(A young couple are unpacking boxes as they settle into their new house)
scene begins with hand shot footage suggesting it is a home movie as the shot has random movement.  .
Ellie (while moving the camera around) "Wait...how does this work again how do you focus on this camera...oh wait I got it"
cuts to a medium shot of Lisa (Ellie's partner) in a room kneeling in front of boxes.
Ellie"There she is! (laughs) say hi to the camera"
Lisa:(while laughing) "what are you doing with that?"
Ellie"Aww look at you unpacking you look beautiful "(laughs)
Lisa: (while holding up her index finger to the camera) "Day one moving into our new house!"
Ellie " we are moving in finally and just look at her shes so happy !"
Lisa "You know you should really be helping me unpack" (glares at Ellie disapprovingly)
Ellie "yeah yeah" "I'l help later"
Ellie "first lest admire this beauty" Says jokingly (Laughs)while coming closer to Lisa with the camera
Lisa:(picks up Green box by her side and stands up with it while looking directly at the camera smirking) "Babe this box goes up in the attic can you put it up there?" (extends green box towards the camera)
Ellie:"yeah sure.. let me just zoom into your pretty face"(laughs)
Lisa (while laughing pushes hand into camera lenses "Oh Stooooop"
Black out to show home video footage ending and pass of time.
camera cuts to a medium shot done by camera on a tripod to keep the camera steady, medium shot from behind Ellie standing looking up at the latch door of the Attic above her. Ellie picks up a long stick beside her with a hook at the end of it and extends it to the latch door of the attic above her.
Camera cuts to low angled shot from the side of Ellie as she opens the latch door and it swings down.
Ellie extends Stick to the attic and pulls down the metal stairs. (Sound of the layers of the metal stairs scrapping past each other is heard)
camera cuts back to a medium shot from behind Ellie as she grabs the camera beside her and puts the strap of it around her neck indicating that she is going to film the attic. Ellie cautiously climbs up the ladder. Camera shot switches to a hand filmed footage as the shot is quite shaky depending on the movements of the person filming , this suggest to the audience that Ellie is filming the attic by hand with her camera.  Cuts to a panning shot as the camera pans from left to right analyzing the dim lit attic, revealing boxes and blankets and cluttered objects.
Ellie:"so this is our new Attic then ?"
a light switch sound is heard as if some one had just switched the lights off and the light is turned off so that the camera sees pitch black darkness.
Ellie:"woah what? Hey! Lisa?.. what happened?"
Ellie:"SHIT!"
Camera is shaking about as if the character is moving their hands, camera then stills and focuses on a close up shot of Ellie's hand holding her Mobile phone in front of the camera, we see her turn on the torch setting on her mobile indicating to the audience that she is going to use the torch on her Mobile phone as a source of light so that she can see. This small source of light creates tension for the audience as you can only so much with a torch you are only revealed what ever direction you shine the torch to but not all of your surroundings is shown.
Camera then pans up along with the torch that Ellie holds up,
(Non diegetic incidental background music starts to play, the music is accelerating and eerie this creates tension in the scene and adds to the acceleration  indicating to the audience that the music is leading up to a climax making us feel scared for the character as something might happen to her)
Camera slowly pans to the right according to Ellie's movement of the torch.
Ellie:"What the hell?" shinning torch to the wall in the attic where a metal chain is hanging
(Volume of the background music increases and quickens to accelerate the scene)
Camera slowly pans to right where the torch shines on a Strange looking figure dressed in white in the corner of the shot. Shot lasts 1 second in total
Ellie(gasps) (while dropping camera to the floor)
Sound: rapid panting is heard from Ellie as well as tapping sounds on the floor of the attic suggesting that Ellie is feeling the floor for the camera and her torch.
Music accelerates and volume increases suggesting it is leading up to the climax quickly causing tension and suspense.
Ellie:"shit, shit!!"
Camera is picked up and quickly pans up along with the torch in a low angled shot of The strange figure suddenly pouncing at the camera lens. to create the "pop up" effect.
Sound:background music reaches the peek of its climax as the figure pops up in the shot to cause a greater impact.
Ellie:screams
Black out
